A Business Administration Program tailored to Hispanic contractors in the area,
was completed on May 21st, by 13 participants

Back in March 2015, HCAC introduced its newest signature program, the "HCAC Business Management Program", which took place from April 1st to May 13th at the HCAC Offices, followed by a graduation ceremony, on May 21st where all students were recognized and celebrated by the program instructors, HCAC staff and family members.

The HCAC Business Management Program is a comprehensive, 15-hour training on accounting, marketing, operations management, leadership, human resources, legal matters and financial planning. This program complements our Construction Management Training, which will also take place this fall in October and November. Both programs have been specially developed for our contractor members.

“At HCAC, we strive to keep up with the high demands of our industry, we like our members to be outgoing and to stand out from their competitors,” said Julian Arcila, HCAC Executive Director. “We have identified that one of the best ways to do that is by studying, learning and improving their skills as entrepreneurs, and that is why we are so proud to have implemented this program,” added Mr. Arcila.

Adriana Silva, owner of Fresh and Bright Corp. and one of the students in the program, said that “participating in this program was a great experience; not only because of the knowledge acquired, but also for the people we met, including teachers and colleagues. Such programs benefit the participants opening their eyes to other possibilities, teaching us how to handle the company growth and to be competitive in a market that is becoming more demanding. This program helps us minimize the mistakes that often lead to legal or regulatory issues or even company closings. Thanks for letting me participate in this program, I now feel more confident, knowing the risks that I run and results that I can achieve if I do things the right way,” she added.
