FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NC811 and Hispanic Contractors Association of the Carolinas Form an Alliance

The goal of North Carolina 811 is to educate all Excavators.

GREENSBORO, NC (June 20, 2014) "It is HCAC's intention to work closely and collaborate with other organizations, in order to identify more opportunities for the Hispanic construction industry", stated Julian Arcila, Executive Director of HCAC.  NC811 has sponsored and supported HCAC for the past several years at their Conference and Expo.  With the new revised Underground Utility Safety and Damage Prevention Act coming into effect October 1, 2014, there is a need to educate all excavators within North Carolina about the changes.  View the revised law here.

NC811 is partnering with HCAC to help educate their members.  Providing brochures in Spanish will help contractors/excavators understand the requirements of Calling Before You Dig.  Brochures included are the Excavation Manual, Guide to Calling in Notifications, Homeowners Guide, Positive Response, Remote Ticket Entry, and WebTMS.  Any of the brochures may be downloaded here.

NC811 and the Pipes Plus partners will team up to offer the information that excavators need to understand the processes that help protect them, their work force and the underground utilities that may conflict with their excavation efforts. This FREE program is an on-going national effort to increase knowledge of safe digging, damage prevention for underground utilities, and emergency responses. For more information on locations, visit here.

Louis Panzer, Executive Director of NC811, stated, "The goal of NC811 is to educate all excavators about the safe digging process. The alliance with the Hispanic Contractors Association of the Carolinas is of utmost importance to keep their members safe."  To learn more about Calling Before You Dig, visit here.
