When is the time to buy a new truck?

By: Mike Price from Bobby Murray

Great question!  I believe that there are several factors to consider for the purchase of the right vehicle for your business needs. What I do is interview my customer and ask some qualifying questions.

1) What kind of business do you have?  Framer, Plumber, HVAC, Electrical
2) How big is your company?  one person, twenty employees
3) How old is your company? New or Old
4) Do you have a budget of what you can or want to spend for vehicles?
5) Do you have any special needs for equipment in your business?  This could be special accessories.
6) Will you need financing?

I think these questions will get a general determination of the type of vehicle you will be looking for and how many.  As many of you know the type of business you have will typically determine the type of vehicle you may need.  I can help you get your selection down to a few choices and see what will work best for your needs.

Here are a few examples: Builder/Framers could use a 2500 Silverado 4WD Crew Cab with a Utility Bed and a ladder rack with a towing package.  This truck would be capable of carrying the work crew and all the tools needed for the job.

Plumber could use a 3500 Cutaway van with an enclosed body and access doors on the outside of the body to make workers more organized and efficient.  You may also be comfortable with a truck and a ladder rack with organizing bins.  You could also use a full size van with a Commercial bin package.
So many options that can be used, but the key is to make your business run as profitable as possible and have a sales person that can help you determine those needs and deliver you the right vehicle.
