Sealed proposals will be received by Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College until 2:00 PM on April 28, 2020, in the Chestnut Building, Room 108 at 89 Facilities Way, Asheville, NC 28801 on the Asheville Campus of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, for the furnishing of labor, materials, and equipment entering into the construction of:

MADISON CAMPUS: RESTROOM RENOVATIONS for ASHEVILLE-BUNCOMBE TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE Asheville, North Carolina Bids will be opened and read aloud at 3:00 PM April 28, 2020 by video conference at the following link: https://zoom.us/j/5076518369

Bidders who wish to mail their proposals SHALL address them to Ms. Beth Gentry, Director of Facilities Support, Facilities and Operations, Chestnut Building Room #108, AB Tech at 340 Victoria Rd. Asheville, NC 28801. To prevent accidental opening, mailed bids should be clearly marked on the mailer, "BID FOR: MADISON CAMPUS: RESTROOM RENOVATIONS. DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 3:00 P.M. E.D.T, April 28, 2020

This project will be bid using a single prime contract. Emailed or faxed bids will not be accepted.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday April 17, 2020 by video conference at the following link: https://zoom.us/j/5076518369 This is a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting.

Single prime bidders must identify on their bid the subcontractors they have selected for the subdivisions or branches of work for:

Plumbing Heating, ventilating, and air conditioning; Electrical; and General.

Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College has adopted guidelines for establishing a verifiable percentage goal for participation by minority businesses in projects awarded pursuant to NC General Statute 143-128.2 with respect to the erection, construction, alteration or repair of any buildings when the entire cost of such works shall exceed $30,000. Among other things, these guidelines provided that notification will be given to certain minority businesses of the projects.

All Bidders are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the laws of the State of North Carolina, and that the requirements of Chapter 87 of the General Statutes of North Carolina will be observed.

Bids shall include all taxes and, in particular, North Carolina and local sales and use taxes. A bid bond is required for this project.

A performance bond and a labor and material payment bond will not be required for this project.

Payment will be made on the basis of ninety-five percent (95%) of monthly estimates and final payment made upon completion and acceptance of work.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities.
